Are there GI problems that can cause a herniated disk at l5-s1? Like chronic constipation? I'm only 25 female and don't know how i got herniated disk.

In a way: The constipation probably did not cause the herniation all by itself. Disk degenerative (and herniation) can occur in your age group (more common in those about 10 or more years older), and is not rare. The constipation may have caused you to strain, and that could have aggravated the rupture or caused a degenerated disk to rupture (herniate). ...Read more

Does a herniated disk at L5 s1 ever go away without having a epidural injection? Why does my ankle hurt so much on the right side of the disk

Yes it does!: Lots of people live not knowing they have 1. Also if some1 has pain and 1 is found, pain attributed to it. Surgery doesn't always helpi have patients who got rid of even foot drops with yoga and or rehab. Pain is just your body telling you you are doing something wrong, and at that point it is often reversible if you listen. Yes it cd go away, but what you really need is have it silent. ...Read more

Pinched Nerve: Sounds like you have a pinched nerve in your back. I would suggest seeing a pain/spine specialist to evaluate you further to evaluate what level and what can be done to treat you. There are interventional treatments besides medications and surgeries that might reduce or eliminate the pain altogether. ...Read more

Operated on for herniated disk L5-S1 3 months ago. 1 month ago had pain again. MRI not conclusive: fibrosis or recurrence ¿how and when can I now?

Response: Not fully clear to me, what you are asking, but will respond generically. If you do scar or develop post-op arachnoiditis, tends to start at 3-4 months, and that may explain your symptoms. You might benefit from injections, and a pain management specialist may be very helpful. Physical therapy and exercise might be a marvelous option. ...Read more

Look high: A disc herniation at l5s1 can't explain your symptoms so logically treating it would not expect to resolve. Continue to look for a problem that explains your symptoms neurologistt are familiar with a broader set of neurological conditions beyond compressive neuropathies i can think of any condition that would be expected to give you the symptoms you have described with a clean MRI good luck. ...Read more
