Pain inside scrotum persists even after hernia repair and after orchiectomy, in a 61 year-old.....?
Questionable treatment, unless indirect inguinal hernia shown first.: Testicular &/or scrotal pain can notoriously be difficult to manage and often does not respond to epididymectomy. Certainly removal of testicle should not have been performed unless testicle was very tender. Various regimes utilized by pain clinics should have been tried first & certainly should be tried now including possible acupuncture. There is also possibility of referred pain. Surgery often does not help with this kind of pain unless it is due to intermittent trusts torsion in which case fixation of testis, to prevent twisting of spermatic cord, takes care of problem. Wish I could be of more help. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
