What are the symptoms of a groin hernia?

What are the symptoms of a groin hernia?

Swelling and pain: In general, lopsided groin swelling and pain with activity (especially lifting, staining, and coughing) are highly suggestive of a hernia. You can have it on both sides too. If your bowel is caught within the hernia, additional symptoms may include nausea, bloating or problem with bm. If in doubt, please check in with your doctor.

Symptoms of groin strain or hernia?

Usually pain: Especially on exertion. If it is a true inguinal hernia, you might also see a lump. If this lump becomes painful or tender, it is time to see surgeon for possible surgical repair. If it is just a strain, it should get better with rest and mild analgesics.

I believe I have a groin hernia. Other than pain, what are some of the symptoms of a groin hernia?

No bulge, no hernia: The most consistent symptom of a groin hernia is the presence of a bulge. This may be constant but often enlarges with activity and may seem to go away after laying down. While hernias may cause pain, they usually cause subtle discomfort (also) worsened with activity. This pain may extend into the inner thigh due to nerve irritation.

Please explain what are some symptom differences between groin strain and hernia?

Please explain what are some symptom differences between groin strain and hernia?

Hernia symptoms: They can include pain located in the groin or below the groin crease: bulging, pain, a lump, tenderness or even changes in bowel or bladder habits. Meet with your surgeon to get testing, examined and determine if its a true hernia ie a hole or a defect in the area or if its a musculoskeletal strain/tear.

What are the symptom differences between a groin strain and a hernia? Would they be similar?

What are the symptom differences between a groin strain and a hernia? Would they be similar?

Yes: Symptoms can be very similar for both a groin strain and hernia. Usually with a hernia a physician or patient can feel a bulge at the site of the hernia. With a groin strain, no bulge is felt. However small hernias can cause significant symptoms and they can be small enough to not feel a bulge very well. A good history of the pain and exam can help differentiate.

My husband has had a inguinal groin hernia and I think it has busted what are signs and symptoms of a busted hernia?

My husband has had a inguinal groin hernia and I think it has busted what are signs and symptoms of a busted hernia?

See your doctor: An inguinal or groin hernia is a bulge or swelling from weak fibers in the groin region. So a hernia is technically already "busted." best to see a doctor for an examination or a general surgeon to evaluate for possible hernia surgery.

Extreme pain in lower right groin female full hysterectomy at 25 from cysts and severe endometriosis had ingunial hernia repaired n 2004?

Pelvic pain: There are so many explanations for pain in the pelvis, it is not possible to say it is your uterus. Could be ovarian cysts, ligaments of the pelvis, or muscles and tendons of the abdomen. Is the pain incited by movement of the pelvis or low back? If so it is probably musculoskeletal.

I am experiencing symptoms of another hernia in my groin area and CT shows no hernia. Dr. Did feel some giving in that area. Can it still be?

Hernia with neg CT: Hi, I always tell my patients that the "body doesn't lie", you are having pain for a reason. Ct scan's can miss some hernias depending on location, size, type, quality of the imaging study and the radiology interpretation. Consider having a general surgeon examine you and persue this symptom until it has been identified.

Same symptoms three years, I've had discomfort in the inguinal area. Doctors have ruled out hernia, and told groin me strain. What else can it be?

Doubt??? Strain: May be a hernia other than the common Inguinal hernia, There are other hernias of that area such a femoral / obturator hernias. Seek consult from a Gen Surgeon and get a MRI of the pelvis

I am a female and had a groin hernia repair on May 12th. I have intermittent severe pain like a hot pocker being shoved in my groin. Is this common?

Ask the Dr: Call the Dr who did the repair. Have a followup exam - that's part of the procedure and the only way to know if healing is on track. Don't wait! Try not to use or hold on to imagry of such violent or inflammatory things - they make pain worse. Those who need to manage chronic pain are taught to use accurate but colorless words. Every little bit counts! Call now!

I received hernia surgery in groin ysterday to repair hernia and they took a biopsy of my lymph nodes bc they looked"odd" im 23yrs old female. In pain?

Post surgery care: The lymph node will be further evaluated by a pathologist and a report with final diagnosis will be available to you and your surgery team in a few days. The pain is from your surgery site and expected. Okay to take your prescribed medications, ice the area and call in to your surgery team, make your post surgery appointment. Be well.

Yes, . ..: Fact: Every condition always displays on its pattern of full spectrum from nothing detectable at its beginning to its full-blown picture at the end. Weak spot in inguinal spot indicates the very early stage of developing hernia, which may progress in a widely variable pace reflecting your muscle strength & lifestyle.
