What are the restrictions post hiatal hernia and gallbladder surgery at the same time?

What are the restrictions post hiatal hernia and gallbladder surgery at the same time?

Not much: Since these procedures can be accomplished concurrently and laparoscopically, postoperative restrictions should be minimal. You will probably be advised to avoid heavy lifting and strenuous exercise for about two weeks. Can a abdominal hernia be repaired the same time as gallbladder surgery?

Can a abdominal hernia be repaired the same time as gallbladder surgery?

Yes: Yes, but it depends on what type of hernia in terms of location and severity. A groin hernia or complex hernia would probably not be best to do at the same time. A relatively straightforward umbilical or incisional hernia can be done at the same time, but it also depends on the condition of the gallbladder. Discuss with your surgeon to find out what's best for you. ...Read more

I had gallbladder surgery and 3 months later ventral hernia surgery, but why after 4 weeks am I still sick and in a lot of pain?

I had gallbladder surgery and 3 months later ventral hernia surgery, but why after 4 weeks am I still sick and in a lot of pain?

Hard to answer.: The reason you could be sick and still in a lot of pain could be due to any number of reasons, some related to the surgeries and some not. The differential for vague symptoms of "sick" and "pain" is wide, and unfortunately can't be answered simply here. You could be having a complication of surgery, or you could be having a new or separate process going on. Return to your surgeon for work-up. ...Read more

Is surgery indicated for gallbladder that causes tenderness, pale stools? Symptoms intermittent over years. Had sand yrs ago. Also have hiatal hernia.

Maybe/Maybe not.: The anatomy of the gallbladder, pancreas and liver needs to be assessed, possibly using ultrasound to look for problems in the region. If you are not having pain, or symptoms are not thought to be related to a problem with your gallbladder then the answer wouln't be cholecystectomy. The best answer to your question would be to have a discussion with your doctor in person about this. Best wishes! ...Read more
