A dietary supplement, also known as food supplement or nutritional supplement, is a preparation intended to supplement the diet and provide nutrients, such as vitamins, minerals, fiber, fatty acids, or amino acids, that may be missing or may not be consumed in sufficient quantities in a person's diet. Probably not: A search of the medical literature (on www.Pubmed.Gov) shows no data or studies that would suggest this is true (even if it might be theoretically). ...Read more
I take 120 mgs of methadone a day. Will the thrive supplements and shakes cause precipitated withdrawals?
Any natural supplements or habits to wean off of Xanax (alprazolam)? Are there any quick exercises that would help me during withdrawals? I work in a fast paced environment. I cannot let weaning off slow me down. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Xanax (alprazolam) withdrawal: I understand your concern about withdrawal from Xanax (alprazolam). I commend you for wanting to overcome Dependence. If you are decreasing the dose by 20%every week, it is likely that you will wean off Xanax (alprazolam) with less discomfort. Do Breathing and Music Relaxation, Visual Imagery, Yoga, Meditation and Tai Chi. Drink Green tea and plenty of water. Walk in a State or National Park. Can a person taking 8mg Suboxone for opiate withdrawals also take St. Johns Wort, Passion Flower and/or GABA supplements to help with anxiety?
Talk to provider: I'd resist these products until getting a clear 'go-ahead' from the provider who prescribed the Suboxone. It can be dangerous when taken w/ any other CNS depressant (GABA) and St. John's Wort can lessen its' effectiveness - so discuss it and probably don't. The Suboxone alone may reduce your anxiety and CBT therapy is a safe, good option to learn good life skills. Best wishes! ...Read more
Are they're any natural supplements or vitamins I can take while going through horrible withdrawal from Zoloft (sertraline) and Welbutrin?
Be careful: As if you don't know what your response to various supplements, you could actually make your symptoms worse or develop other issues. If your issues are truly related to abruptly stopping Zoloft and/or Wellbutrin, (bupropion) why don't your review this with your doctor and try to come up with a plan to more slowly taper off of these medications to prevent withdrawal symptoms. ...Read more
I need help with addiction to Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine). Is there a supplement that helps with withdrawals or something besides talking to my dr or going to meetings?
Not that I know of: There is no true withdrawal from stimulants, and I have withdrawn many hundreds of people from it without a whole lot of symptoms. The main thing is not withdrawal, but the return of symptoms that were being managed by the amphetamine. You list yourself on BOTH Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) and adderall, which is. If you have ADHD, Stratera (atomexitine) may work. A milder stimulant, like caffeine, might help. ...Read more

Is there any medication\natural herbs that help with dizziness, room spinning, chronic fatigue, sleeping for weeks only getting up to use the bathroom and eat, this is from meth withdrawals?
Need a doctor: You should have a check up with a physical examination and blood testing, to see if there's something wrong which would respond to some form of treatment. You also need ongoing drug abuse treatment, if you want to stay clean and off drugs, which is what I recommend. Meth Addiction can be tough, you need all the help you can get and need to do whatever it takes to stay clean. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
