Herbal Treatment For Unsteady Gait
Exercise: Muscle cells are replaced by fat as we age & nerve pathways that aren't being stimulated die out. Make sure that the weakness is not being caused by other conditions, however. It's too easy to say, "you're just getting old." conditions that affect muscles, nerves, and energy can be obstacles. For how many years Requip (ropinirole) is an effective treatment for Parkinson's as the decease progresses?
That Depends : Requip (ropinirole) is not a cure nor will it lessen the progression (or I'm unaware of such evidence)....however it's benefit on symptoms of a movement disorder may be present as long as you take the medication, possibly many years. If you think it may no longer be effective, then discuss with provider. Maybe a dosage adjustment or maybe a trial off/on the medication is reasonable. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Depends on cause: This can be due to meds, nervous system disease, heart disease, dehydration, aging, or other. Treatment for each of these can be different. Postural hypotension occuring after eating can be avoided by eating small meals low in carbohydrates. For all causes, stand up slowly rather than quickly to allow the body to adjust. Fludrocortisone can be used in some cases. Please check with your doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

In your experience, what are the "best" treatments for intractable migrane? Tried a lot of diff meds, antidepresants, beta/ca blockers, antiseizure etc
Complex, but can fix: To prevent migraines, the most effective prescription meds include Depakote and topirimate, and the others above likely will not work well. But otc preps have actually worked very well indeed, so consider riboflavin, butterbur, feverfew, co-q10, and/or magnesium. Success rates are high with the otc preps. Lastly, to break up headache pattern use steroids, if all else fails. ...Read more
Hand Tremor/ depression.Diagnosed as early stage Parkinson. Is there med. or herbal way to stop hand tremor completely.Pexola 0.375mg helps little.
Tremor options in PD: Tremor as part of Parkinson is tough. If you think pramipexole is helping with your PD it is reasonable to ask your MD about increasing it. If your total daily dose is 0.375mg, you have a lot of room to increase (as long as the side effects aren't bad). Unfortunately, the resting tremor of PD is arguably best treated by moving or finding a better PD medicine. ...Read more
