Dark spots red patches itchy painful skin rash. Doctors said its a allergic reaction , they gave me steroids by mouth but the rash is getting bad?

Allergic rash: How long ago were the steroid pills given? They will take a day or two to work. It is important for you to be followed by an individual doctor so they can judge the course of your condition. Preferably a dermatologist but that may not be practical. There is also topical cream you can use. Also the dose of the steroid pills might need to be adjusted. ...Read more

Bra rash is super itchy, red, stings to the touch, raised \u0026 inflamed. Days after still red now with bumps with black dots? What are these black dots?

Your initial: Description sounds like an inflammation of skin hair follicles or a friction rash or, infrequently a contact type dermatitis (doubt), the fact that it stings suggests that there is some superficial skin breakdown. If the black "dots" brush or wash off easily and you wore a black bra it is just fibers from the bra. Wouldn't know what else would cause that without seeing. ...Read more

Can hydrocortizone 1% cream be applied for fading of non-itchy rash on leg which is pityriasis rosea herald patch, on skin for almost 2 months, ?

Doubtful: Hydrocortisone is helpful for itchy or inflamed rashes. We believe that pityriasis is caused by a virus and not inflammatory. I would expect a herald patch to be accompanied by others by now. You should consider that this might be another cause such as eczema or lupus. I would recommend an examination. ...Read more

Mother developed splotchy patches of swelling on only the face for a few days, then dry, peeling skin like sunburn. Any ideas as to what it is?

Topical allergy: Most likely she got something on her skin that she was allergic to or an irritant such a chemical could have gotten on her face. Assuming she did not have any other systemic reactions i.e. Fever, chills, headache, these would be the most likely causes. The peeling skin is the way the skin heals itself . They are generally self limited and nothing to be concerned about unless she gets it again. ...Read more
