Hmmm: Could still be myoclonus. Possibilities include epileptic myoclonus, subcortical myoclonus, and other other movement disorders. Movement disorders which occur during sleep are not psychological, so something is going on. I would visit neurologist. ...Read more

More info would help: Like your son's age and what you have been told thus far. In the interim, he should see a Neurologist for a thorough evaluation and creation of a long term plan that might include physical therapy and treatment for the jerks or underlying diagnosis. ...Read more
