Cough: It may be you have a type of asthma triggered by exposure to cold. Pulmonary Function tests may help or a trial of a bronchodilator such as albuterol prior to cold exposure. Many older people become more sensitive to the cold temperatures, causing bronchospasm in the lungs and therefore coughing when exposed to the cold.
