Many things wrong here that need to be corrected now that could help the success of future procedures. 3 more stents is a lot, and indicates the level of need for prevention and treatment to ensure longevity. After 8 weeks of Nexium&Protonix40mg treatment egd still shows erosive gastritis. No biopsy taken due to Plavix (clopidogrel). What blood/other testing do I need?

Focus correct issues: Plavix (clopidogrel) (& aspirin) usually Rx'ed for arterial disease plaque ruptures. (Aspirin & NSAIDs promote gastritis, don't take.) Optimize NMR lipoproteins (get LDL-P ? to <700 nmol/dL), HbA1c <5.0%, SBP <120 mmHg, go HFLC foods & then stop the Plavix (clopidogrel). The proton pump inhibitors you're taking tend to help but do not cure. Focus on the causes of the gastritis. Study my answers, DietDoctor.com FatChance.html ...Read more

A biopsy made to my stomach reflected this result: chronic inactive superficial focal erosive gastritis. What its mean?

A biopsy made to my stomach reflected this result: chronic inactive superficial focal erosive gastritis. What its mean?

It means nothing ser: This is a twisted way of saying that there is nothing serious that the biopsy shows! the key word here is "inactive". If it was " active", then you would be told that you have mild gastritis. I would not worry about this biopsy report., . Of course your doctor who did the biopsy should be able to answer your questions and guide you further.! ...Read more

What is esophageal basal hyperplasia, erosive gastritis and chronic inactive gastritis. These are some if what I have been diagnosed with?

Inflammation: Gastritis is inflammation of the stomach (see: http://sgoti.Ws/zotkqv). It sounds like you had an endoscope showing esophageal basal hyperplasia, which is increased cellular growth. Look at the pathology report, assuming you had a biopsy. Symptoms like these deserve a full evaluation in person by your health care provider. ...Read more

Been taking prescribed meds for diffuse erosive gastritis, h pylori & hiatal hernia for a month but it doesn't seem to help. Anything else i can do?

Need doc: Assuming these diagnoses were made with appropriate imaging and are correct, then you need to inform the treating doctor. "plan b" may be in order. Were you instructed to modify certain life style issues such as drinking alcohol and smoking and you didn't? The medications need help from the patient. Monitor your stool for black tarry stools which are a sign of bleeding in esophagus and/or stomach. ...Read more

I am taking Plavix (clopidogrel) and I will have to add some Aspirin for a month. I have erosive gastritis. What should I do?

I am taking Plavix (clopidogrel) and I will have to add some Aspirin for a month. I have erosive gastritis. What should I do?

All depends: The most important factor is why you are taking the Plavix (clopidogrel). Some indications such as peripheral artery disease may not be as strong as others, i.e.recent stroke. Erosive gastritis is a serious risk for bleeding; your doctor(s) will want to weight the benefit of Plavix (clopidogrel)/aspirin against the risk for you. Options include no anti-coagulation to other alternatives including heparin. Work with your doc! ...Read more
