Likely OK.: You might just have had some inflammation of the lining of your stomach because you likely drank so much. Some blood might have been passed in your stomach/digestive tract, and caused your black stool. Having said this, you're lucky you don't have a worse issue from drinking, and you should try to stop. You could get ulcers, tears, and GI bleed, let alone liver damage, so try to quit. ...Read more

However, blood from the upper intestine - stomach ulcer, polyp, inflammation does cause the stool to be black. If it is a continuing problem, see a doctor. See ur GI doc : If your not on iron your stools shouldnt be black. You are predisposed to bleeding with the cirrosis anyway and a change in apetite or bowels should be reported back to you gastro guy asap. ...Read more
