I have septated hepatic cyst measuring 19*21mm.It is dangerous or not ? How it can be treated.

Ask the radiologist: Most simple hepatic cysts aren't septated. It's up to the radiologist to make the call as to whether there's a need for further study. ...Read more

I had a unroofing of a hepatic cyst and now the cyst is back what is the treatment for this?

Unclear terminology: I do not know what you mean from 'unroofing'. Was it some sort of surgery? Liver cysts are mostly benign, so we do not need to do anything to them unless the cyst is very large in size. Please provide more details so w e can guide you further. ...Read more

My mum(53)got a hepatic cyst (6cmx5cm now)found through ultrasound scan 15 years ago. Is any treatment for this or can leave it if it grows slowly?

My mum(53)got a hepatic cyst (6cmx5cm now)found through ultrasound scan 15 years ago. Is any treatment for this or can leave it if it grows slowly?

Hepatic cyst: There's certainly nothing wrong with leaving a hepatic cyst alone in certain circumstances. It sounds as if your mum is getting periodic ultrasound scans since you mention that it was found 15 years ago and a current measurement. It would be smart for your mum to take the ultrasound results to a doctor who can do a physical exam and additional lab work to determine the cause of the cyst. ...Read more

I had a CT scan of my abdomen and it said that my hepatic cyst is stable. What is that?

I had a CT scan of my abdomen and it said that my hepatic cyst is stable. What is that?

That is good for you: Many people develop cysts in their livers over the course of their lifetime. A true liver cyst is benign and is no cause for worry: it is an "incidental " finding. If you undergo a follow up ct scan for some reason, the radiologist will compare all findings with your prior study, and will most likely report your liver cyst as stable, meaning there is no change in size. ...Read more

Dear doctors. Should I be alarmed of the CT scan result showed:- focal adenomyosis at the gallbladder fundus n probable hepatic cyst.

Dear doctors. Should I be alarmed of the CT scan result showed:- focal adenomyosis at the gallbladder fundus n probable hepatic cyst.

Depends on findings: Adenomyosis of the gallbladder appears to be a harmless incidental (= unexpected & not related to study reason) finding on radiologic studies, typically no symptoms. Liver cysts are common; CT scan usually can tell if harmless or not. Depending on degree of suspicion, if CT cannot tell or if cyst is large, might repeat CT in a few months, test the fluid, occasionally remove cyst, or other tests. ...Read more

6.2 CM complex liver cyst , should I be worried?

6.2 CM complex liver cyst , should I be worried?

You need evaluation: Yes, you are appropriately concerned. When you pursue further evaluation, your doctor will want to know your exposure risks, travel history, etc. Also, is this the first time the cyst was identified, or has it enlarged, changed in appearance, or become symptomatic? What liver imaging modality was accomplished? Best of luck with your testing and treatment. ...Read more
