I think so: Nobody really knows the rate for late conversions as one never really knows what people are doing that might be risky after the reported exposure is done. Hep B Virus (HBV) DNA Qualitative (Detection) - COBAS TaqMan , Hep C RNA Detection by Taqman detection will be conclusive on 47 days? Any retest need?
No: Both Hepatitis B and C viruses may be detected 30 to 60 days after infection by antigen detection or 60-120 days with antibody testing. Direct HBV DNA and HCV RNA testing can potentially detect infection earlier, within 2-4 weeks after infection, so being tested at 47 days post-exposure with a negative nucleic acid test for both is very likely to be a true negative ...Read more

34 weeks pregnant.AST=33,ALT=52; Hep A positive; Hep B and Hep C negative. will my baby get infected? what will be complications in pregnancy?
Unsure: there are not many cases of hepatitis A being transmitted to the baby from the mom. Your liver function numbers are reassuring. Please discuss with your OB provider and whoever your child's provider will be. What is reassuring is that transmission from mom to baby is rare in the medical literature ...Read more

IMy HBV test results (red cross): Hepatitis B Surface Antigen: Nonreactive; Hepatitis B Core Antibodies: Reactive; HBV PCR: Negative. Do I have HBV?
Cured, but...: If a person's Hep B surface antigen is nonreactive, that means the lab does not find pieces of the surface of the virus. If her Hep B virus PCR is negative, that means the lab does not find the virus's DNA (genes). If the core antibody is reactive that means her immune system REMEMBERS being infected with Hep B. She is cured, but some viral DNA might be attached to her own human DNA in her liver. ...Read more
HC worker. 1992 Hep B vac, 2004 titer & booster. 2012 labs hep B neg. Labs done last wk; now told that Hep B test is positive?? How can this be?
The vaccine worked: Lab tests aren't perfect and sometimes can be wrong. Or maybe the negative result was from the wrong kind of test. Vaccination makes hepatitis B surface antibody (HBsAb) positive. Tests for surface antigen (HBsAg) or core antibody (HBcAb) remain negative. Most important, you can be sure you are immune and protected by the vaccine -- so no worries. ...Read more
45-160 days: Hi, It is not transmitted by holding hands, hugging, or even dry kissing on the lips. The chance of transmission with deep kissing is unknown, as no infections have been definitively documented after exposure to infected saliva. Yet, since HBV has been found in saliva, the risk of transmission with deep kissing probably exists. If you did contract hep B it will take average120 days to show symptm ...Read more
Had 2 of 3 Hep B vaccine shots. HEPATITIS B SURFACE ANTIBODY QL is NON-REACTIVE. 3rd shot in June. Am I protected at all until final shot?
Immune System: The Immune System is quite mysterious - it has layers and layers to it actually. One 'crude' way of measuring part of this immunity is through antibody testing. That only measures one branch of the whole thing, however. With Hep B vaccine especially, there is often good T-cell immunity generated, which is NOT routinely measured. You're not quite done with the series, so I would measure afterwards. ...Read more

Is LABCORP "Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Antibody Verification" test used as was used riba test for ruling out/in false positive hep C HCV antibody results?
I tested negative for hep b antigen after 100 days french kiss exposure and positive for antibody 70 QN due vaccination baby is it conclusive thanks?
No risk, no worries: You are immune to hepatitis B virus (HBV) due to being vaccinated. With without vaccination, kissing rarely if ever transmits HBV so you weren't at risk anyway. And your negative HBsAg test proves you weren't infected. Your repeated questions show you're irrationally obsessed with this. Consider counseling. (Apologies if you're not same as previous questions.) ...Read more
