Hemp Seed Oil Vs Fish Oil
Omega 3 is good: Many people can not eat enough fish to get sufficienct omega 3. I am a firm advocate of taking this. I like fish oil better than cod liver oil due to its purification and processing. For heart disease it is 2-4 grams, for joint paint 4-6 grams and for prevention 2grams. For mental health it is dha not epa that you need. ...Read more
Fish oils contain two active omega-3 fatty acids, dha and epa. Most fish oil products contain both dha and epa, but supplements enriched in dha or epa are available. Omega-3 fatty acids have been shown to significantly reduce sudden cardiac death. Some studies also indicate the potential for benefits in dementia and risk of heart attack. The omega-3 content of cold water ...Read more
Is it ok to take universal nutrition: animal cuts with a combination of flax seed oil or fish oil?
Yes: No harm to that -- just a bit silly if you asked me. ...Read more
Not at all: This is totally safe, a bit like having pumpkin pie after eating fish. While both fish oil and pumpkin seed oil are good sources of omega 3 fatty acids, pumpkin seed oil contains omega 6 and other fatty acids not found in fish oil, so taking them together would give you a better balance of fatty acids. ...Read more

Fish oil: Fish oil is the oil found in many cold water fish, such as mackerel, tuna, salmon, sturgeon, mullet, bluefish, anchovy, sardines, herring, trout, and menhaden. It's rich in omega-3 fats -- essential to our diets because our bodies cannot make them. You can also get this in supplement form -- at least 1-2 grams of epa and 500mg dha per day if you have depression. ...Read more
May increase LDL:
Prescription fish oil (lovaza) is indicated for treatment of high triglyceride, but in doing so it actually raises the LDL a bit. Taking it as a supplement (smaller dose--1/4 of dose) may not do much at all in term of changing the lipid profile.
So, if u need to lower ldl, fish oil is not the way to go. Consult doc. Good luck. ...Read more
Yes: The omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil have anti-inflammatory effects. The converts small amounts of ala to epa and dha. ...Read more
Maybe: There is some evidence suggesting certain omega 3 fatty acids (found in fish/fish oil) may help nerves. I don't think we can say this definitively yet, but omega 3's have been/are the subject of much study. There are also other reasons why eating more fish/getting more omega 3's may be helpful for your health. Talk with your doctor about your particular situation. ...Read more
Not really: Your liver increases your production of cholesterol, not necessarily the food you eat. Cholesterol is the building block of all hormones in the body and is necessary for life. However high cholesterol or very low cholesterol is not ideal. High cholesterol must be balanced with good cholesterol (HDL) so that it can be removed from the body. Fish oil has good omegas 3's for our body. ...Read more
Fish oil: Omega three fatty acids are polyunsaturated fatty acids and are essential for growth and development in utero and during childhood.
