See ur doctor: Given age and assuming no other signif. Personal/family history, likelihood hemorrhoids high, but would followup with ur MD re possible flex sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy if warranted. Red flags would be incr pain, fever, unanticipated wgt loss, change stool caliber, continued bleed. Happy to consult re optimizing hemorrhoid care besides meds. Melena (black stools) if real needs urgent attention Read more

To see PMD-ASAP: First off- where is the blood from? Rectal bleeding vs vaginal bleeding? Since I don't know your age and whether you are still having period etc- the first thing you should do is to go to see your primary doctor asap or er. Tell you doc regarding your bleeding episode. She/he will be able to channel you to the right specialist- whether you should go to see a gifor a colonoscopy etc or to see a gyne. Read more
Diverticulosis: You may have diverticulosis pouches which are a common cause of loose stools and passage of bright red blood. I assume that inflammatory colon changes were not seen, but check with your colonoscopist to see whether diverticulosis of the colon may be present even with your "normal" colonoscopy. Read more
