Hemorrhoid pain: External hemorrhoids thrombose (blood clotting in them) causing stretching of the tissue and pain. If nothing is done, the swelling and pain can last up to 2 weeks. Softening stool, preventing loose stools, sitz baths, and healing ointments (not prep-h) help relieve the pain. Opening the hem and extracting the clots of blood will also shorten the recovery.See 1 more doctor answer

Yes, but: Naproxen will certainly help with the pain and to some degree, the inflammation of the hemorrhoids. It is only recommended for symptomatic relief and should not be taken for a long time. Other measures are sitz bath, creams, suppositories, stool softeners and surgery. See your pcp to discuss your options. Good luck!See 1 more doctor answer
I had my gallbladder removed 4 weeks ago, my hemorrhoid is swelling and bleeds every time I have bowl movement.?
Rectal bleeding: 50% of people have more frequent and looser stools after having their gallbladder removed. This can translate into hemorrhoidal irritation and bleeding. Usually this diarrhea gets better but if it doesnt, there is a prescription powder that can help. This being said, if you haven't had your colon cleared by colonoscopy, you should have at age 45 with bleeding.
