When I make a bowel movement it takes 2 hours stool is soft not constipated have hemorrhoids anal fissures how will doc fix bowel movement?
Have it evaluated: I suppose if you were a contortionist and had a mirror you might figure this out by looking. However, spotting a fissure would not rule out having a hemorrhoid internally that could be your main problem. Having you doc or a GI doc do a formal anoscopy (look at and up your anus) would sort this out. If you just have minor itching down there, local application of emollients like coco butter can help. ...Read more
See your doctor: These are different problems and treatment may also differ. Pain is common with fissure: increase water and fiber intake, use stool softener and sitz baths. Topical nitroglycerine or Diltiazem ointment helps heal fissure. Hemorrhoids don't cause pain unless thrombosed- a firm swelling on the outside of the anus. Fiber, fluids, sitz baths help. Most resolve on their own. ...Read more

Had bleeding during bowel movements. How can I tell if it is hemorrhoids or anal fissure? Are there home treatments? Or do they go away on their own?
You may be able to: Tell by looking with a mirror if you know what you're looking for. To know for sure, please see your doctor. If there's a fissure there, you may be able to heal it with a healing ointment such as Aquaphor and making sure your bowel movements aren't hard. Hemorrhoids can resolve on their own if you soften your stool and don't need to push as hard, but if the bleeding continues, you need to be checked. ...Read more

Until you can see the doctor, you can also apply some healing ointment, such as Aquaphor to your anal area. If it's a fissure, that may even heal it. Working on the constipation is the real factor here, so try to increase the fiber and fluids in your diet...and certainly see your doctor. ...Read more
