10mth front head (end of forehead beginning of hair) is bulging. Soft spot flat, head size same but always big. History of IV hemorrhage no symptoms?
Get help: This does not sound good at all, especially if the anterior fontanelle is flat. I would have a pediatrician or ER doc evaluate this ASAP. Did the child have any recent trauma? Does bulge soft spot in 10 mths a sign for hydrocephalus due to IV hemorrhage. No other symptoms. Neurologist wants to wait for next appt in 3 weeks ?
Hydrocephalus: Sounds scary. An ultrasound can be done. Has the head circumference increased more than usual? Is the soft spot compressible? Perhaps it would be wise to check with your pediatrician to see if an appointment before that time would be beneficial.
