Traumas are cumulatv: See an osteopathic medical doctor who can examine, and treat you! You had a tough fall both on the sacrum/tailbone, and head that will affect your neck, shoulders, low back, and hip, and make it uncomfortable to sit, or drive for long periods. No need to stay in pain. If you get dizzy, nauseous, feel like you're going to pass out, have a massive headache, or incredible pain, go to the ER. ...Read more

I bumped my head on a metal pole no lump or bruise kinda sore where I hit but now my neck is a little sore should I be concerned?

Get checked!: Normally this would not be a concern unless you got knocked out or had symptoms like increasing headache or vomiting. However, since you are on Xarelto, this increases your risk of internal bleeding with even minor trauma. See a doctor ASAP to be sure you don't have any bleeding inside the head. Good luck! ...Read more

Possible abcess: Sounds like you may have developed an abcess (a collection of pus/infection) in that area. If this is the case, you need tobee seen by a medical professional who can see if the pus needs to be drained out and possibly antibiotics. This should not get put off as these things can get very bad and the infection can spread, including into your body. ...Read more

Call your doctor!: Again if you have to let them know it's not working, and see if an x-ray is needed or not. Depending on how you bumped it, and what vector forces went into it will affect your recovery. Get a 2nd opinion from a neuromuscular medicine specialist (DO-osteopathic doctor) who can assess, and treat you, and decompressing your neck and spine after your x-ray's done. Good Luck! ...Read more

I keep hearing that if you hit your head and no bruise, lump or tender spot is there, it indicates a concussion. Is this true?

I keep hearing that if you hit your head and no bruise, lump or tender spot is there, it indicates a concussion. Is this true?

Likely, bt not alwys: Concussion or mild traumatic brain injury can involve both an indirect and direct hit to the head even if there are no obvious bruises, lumps or cuts. Also, you don't have to lose consciousness to be diagnosed with a concussion. Having your body slammed into the ground (wrestlers or football players) even without any direct hit to your head can cause one. ...Read more
