Usually: Ringworm is actually a fungal infection (not a worm) of the skin. You can treat it with over the counter antifungals such as Clotrimazole cream (and there are many others). ? folliculitis: It sounds like folliculitis, a bacterial infection of the scalp similar to acne. If you look close you may see a pustule when they first break out. They are often itchy/tender and scratched at producing a small scab. They tend to come and go. There is no permanent cure, but i often treat flares with antibiotics.
