Simple Care: Sunburn is response of the tissues to injury from solar radiation. It is simply inflammation which means increase blood flow to the area to promote healing. Do not use ice as this can injure already injured skin. Cool water soaks can help as can taking anti-inflammation medicines like Motrin or advil (ibuprofen). Aloe Vera topically: Aloe vera (aloe barbadensis) can reduce redness, pain, itching & swelling from a burn. It has anesthetic, anti-inflammatory & antibacterial / antifungal qualities. It can speed burn healing by stimulating growth of new skin. Place cool compresses on the skin. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatories and acetomenophen can be very helpful. Motrin and lotion: Unfortunately the options here are generally fairly limited. Having said that much of the discomfort is often the result of swelling and that can be helped with medicines such as Motrin or advil which work to reduce the swelling. In addition use of lotions and ice in the early periods will certainly help as well. Tylenol (acetaminophen) dose according to the label on the box will also help with pain and related sensitivity. ...Read more

Heat effect: How bad is your sun burn? Got blisters, severe itching, infected your self by scratching, have fever? If yes then see your doctor. You are taking dramamine , Benadryl (diphenhydramine) & applying aloe. Also apply cold compress. Drink lot of fluids. Always use sun lotion with spf >15. Good luck. ...Read more
