Im allergic to everything but cipro (ciprofloxacin) and levaquin just got off 10 days of levaquin for strep didnt help sore throat time.have it back what can i take?

Virus, not strep?: The large majority of pharyngitis (sore throat) is viral, and no antibiotic works against viruses. Lack of improvement on levofloxacin (Levaquin®) is evidence it wasn't strep to begin with, or that it was strep plus a virus. This should continue to clear up on its own. Check with your doctor if it continues more than another few days. ...Read more

How can I help my sore throat?

How can I help my sore throat?

Herbal medicines: Presuming this is an acute sore throat, these are usually viral & thus antibiotics won't help (if you have a fever and fairly swollen glands it could be strep or another bacterial infection, which can be helped by antibiotics). My favorite treatments for sore throats are herbs, especially pelargonium sidoides & andrographis. Propolis, made by bees, also helps. See my comment for links & more. ...Read more

Will a gargle help a sore throat?

Yes, your probably killing a whole bunch of germs (virus or bacteria) when you gargle but they come back (multiply) pretty darn fast.
