Please help me. Ocd is extremely severe. I m literally disabled. Not sure what to do. Might not live. Help.
Psychiatrist: You must be evaluated and treated by a psychiatrist but I don't advise a psychologist as he/she cannot prescribe medications. I sense some urgency in your plea for help and suggest you obtain psychiatric evaluation as soon as possible even if you have to go to the hospital emergency room where one can be contacted if you can't get an appointment as an outpatient soon. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Finally, some clinical research programs offer "treatment as usual" as an option - see clinicaltrials.Gov. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Great Question: There has been some data for several years now suggesting N.A.C. as an alternative medicine for treatment-resistant OCD. As there are no formal guidelines on its use, it would be best to find a local psychiatrist who is experienced in OCD TX and especially one comfortable with N.A.C. Lexapro (escitalopram) generally plays well with other medicines, though it is always worth a double check. ...Read more
