Pain and deformity in the back of the ankle suggests an achilles injury or even heel bone fracture. A true high ankle sprain should always be evaluated by an orthopedic surgeon because sometimes they need surgery if the ligaments between the tibia and fibula are completely torn. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Fell over on cement. I now have a sore knee, swollen bruised shin and it feels stiff and painful when walking. My ankle has puffed up. Cold compress?
Not fun fall: Ice is always your best friend when you fall, especially with swelling and bruising of your knee/ ankle. You do want to have it checked out, especially if your ankle is swollen to determine if it's a strain or sprain. For either, it's important to keep it elevated above your heart level, to help reduce swelling. Imaging may be needed if you can't weight bear. So, using crutches until ur seen is good. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Can't walk for more then a few minutes at a time. Heel starts to feel bruised. Been like this for 7 months. Seems to switch from foot to foot? Thanks!
Heel spur syndrome.: Sounds like heel spur syndrome or plantar fasciitis. Both are usually due to abnormal foot function. Wear more supportive shoes and take antii-nlammatory medication (if you can) for a solid week. I reccomend either 2 aleve (naproxen) twice a day after eating, or Ibuprofen 800mg twice a day. If the pain doesn't subside or improve, see your local podiatrist. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
