Been dealing for 4 months with what I am pretty sure is just a bruised heel (sports injury). Anything else it could be? What kind of dr. Might i see?

Heel Pain: 4 months is long enough for self-rx, probably time to check in with your family practice or if that doesn't work a foot fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon. If you haven't done a heel cord stretching technique and tried at least 4 - 6 week break from running - you might try that first! wear and tear is much more difficult to cure as we age and if we continue to stress the body. ...Read more

I have pain in my heel flat but not in heels not swollen bruised or red not hot or painful to hand touch....

Heel spur syndrome: Sounds like heel spur syndrome. Either a spur, bursitis or plantar fasciitis. Wearing a high feel relieves tension on achilles tendon and plantar fascia which attach to heel bone, hence relieving pain. Heel spur syndrome.: Sounds like heel spur syndrome or plantar fasciitis. Both are usually due to abnormal foot function. Wear more supportive shoes and take antii-nlammatory medication (if you can) for a solid week. I reccomend either 2 aleve (naproxen) twice a day after eating, or Ibuprofen 800mg twice a day. If the pain doesn't subside or improve, see your local podiatrist. ...Read more

Inflammation: of the plantar fascia ( plantar fasciitis ) , basically the ligament running from heel to front of foot to support arch is likely. A calcium deposit causing a bony spur at the heel is also possible. See a doctor. An x-Ray might help.
