MRI of pelvis report said changes consistent with adenomyosis. Is it true adenomyosis will eventually cause heavy bleeding/pain &need for hysterectomy?

Why was the MRI done: Incidental findings like this one are not uncommon. That is why we do not advice doing tests (like MRI) without a clear reason/search for a specific diagnosis causing unexplained pain or swelling.
I would advice you to wait to worry about all the consequences of adenomyosis when you/we are not even sure that you have this diagnosis! (worry when you have a real problem, not in anticipation! ...Read more

Please: Please call the clinic again and discuss your situation. I am very concerned that you could have a significant tear. It will most likely heal on its own, but it sounds like you are in a lot of pain. Hopefully you will be able to get in sooner.

If you have increased bleeding, still have pain, fever, or discharge, then you must go to the er. ...Read more

After sex I began heavily bleeding. No pain and not my first time. The bleeding isn't coming from inside. Tampons don't help. Light bleeding for 2 days?

Go see your OB/GYN: It's important to have this worked up by your doctor, whether it's ob/gyn physician, or your pediatrician. This should not be left alone. You need to get some answers. And they'll know what to do. They may order lab tests. Also, they may need to do a physical, manual gynecologic examination to determine the cause. ...Read more

I had my period 3-4 days before I had sex, but then 5-6 days after that I started bleeding again...a mix of spotting and heavy bleeding and pain...?

Many options: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections & hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do a home pregnancy test. There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Probably menses: If your pregnancy tests have been negative, then delayed ovulation can result in delayed menstruation. If pregnancy is uncertain, then a blood test for pregnancy will provide a more definitive answer. In theory it could be an early miscarriage, but a positive pregnancy test is needed to confirm this. Otherwise it may just be a bad period. If you do have a positive pregnancy, se. ...Read more

Is it normal to change my tampon every hour? I have a heavy bleeding along with pain in my legs and mild cramping I have not taken any pain medication yet

If: If you need to change your tampon or pad hourly, this is not a normal menstrual flow. The possible causes of this heavy bleeding are many in number. But no, it is not normal. The pain in the legs is not a typical symptom for a menstruating woman. It may or may not be related to your main complaint. Many women experience pelvic or back pain when menstruating but leg pain would be an unusual symptom. You need to consult your physician about these symptoms to figure out what is going on. You should be seen soon. If there is any chance that you may be pregnant and are aborting, you should try to be seen emergently. ...Read more

I have a large pedunculatedsubmucosalfibroid with heavy bleeding, anemia and severe pain every second month should I have a hysterectomy. I am 50 yrs?

Maybe: Surgery carries the potential risk of complications. Things like obesity, heart disease, and severe anemia can increase your risk for surgery. Some doctors may choose to start a medicine called depo lupron (leuprolide) to shrink the fibroids and increase your blood count prior to surgery. The average age of menopause is 51. Your symptoms may go away on their own very soon. Please discuss risks w/ a doctor. ...Read more

If: If you were pregnant prior to this then it is likely that you had a miscarriage. You will need to see your doctor for an evaluation to determine exactly what happened. On the other hand, if you did not know you were pregnant and now think that you may have been, and the bleeding was a miscarriage, you should still see your doctor for an evaluation to determine if you are pregnant, had, or are having a miscarriage. This can all be determined through blood testing and an examination.
I know it is confusing, but you need to seek medical help in order to find answers.
Best of luck. ...Read more

I've been diagnosed with a 3.5 cm anterior subserosal fibroid. Sx's severe pain, heavy bleeding with cycles q 14 days. Uterine ablation good option?

Probably not: A combined laparoscopic myomectomy/ fibroid electrocoagulation and diagnostic hysteroscopy / possible endometrial ablation might be better choices, if you have already explored some non-surgical options like GnRH analogs and unless you do not want to consider a more definitive operation like a laparoscopic hysterectomy. Anemia: You have heavy periods and fatigue. It's likely that you're anemic and need to be assessed by a doctor for possible need for iron supplementation or starting a method to control your bleeding; or even figuring out why you're bleeding so much to begin with. If you're passing out or can't stand up, or bleeding more than 1 pad/hr x 2hrs then you need to go to the ed. ...Read more

During my cycle I experience heavy bleeding abdominal pain and I often have to use a heating pad miss days off school and I throw up can't eat nothing?

It happens: This type of disordered menstrual bleeding is why the hormonal "birth control" pills were originally developed. The side effect (low birth rate) became the main use. If you at having this much problem with cycles an OBGYN could get you on a hormonal preparation that could get this under control. ...Read more

I was hit in the ovaries on accident and the next day I am bleeding heavy, severe pain if my ovaries are about to pop and pressure. What could this be?

Go to Urgent Care/ER: If you feel you have so much pain you must lie in a fetal position for some minor relief, you have to be seen emergently to rule out a possible ovarian cyst rupture, or appendicitis. May have nothing to do with hitting unless it was severely traumatic. Don't delay! Best to find out now what's going on if bleeding heavily/and pain/pressure! You could get anemic too! ...Read more
