Not cancer: Endometrial cells on pap is not a sign of cancer. Adenomyosis can explain heavy bleeding and cramping, but doesn't rule out cancer. Make certain your concerns and communication with your doctor is very good. ...Read more

Maybe: Some women will bleed after a PAP smear. It is heavier if one is pregnant or has a polyp or is due for a period or has an infection. I need more info to help you. ...Read more

No: You need to call your ob/gyn quickly - you may have had some movement or irritation to the iud during the pap. If something was biopsied during the pap, then you may bleed, but biopsies are not a routine part of a pap smear. ...Read more

Not at this time: Now after a pap smear it is ok to experience light spotting. Also you may also be very close to starting you menstrual cycle, so i would recommend taking some over the counter medications such as tylenol or Ibuprofen and if your problems continue for over 1 week then contact your doctor. ...Read more

Yes: Pap smears can traumatize the cervix sufficiently to cause slight bleeding for a couple of days. Cramping is also common, and every pregnancy is different. It is also possible that this represents early signs of a miscarriage but this seems less likely. ...Read more
