.

Sensitivity : Sensitivity on a new filling, especially if it is moderately deep or deep is normal. It may be more sensitive to cold than to heat. It is usually transient, and with some patience it will go away without any further treatment. It may be a good idea to not irritate the tooth for a while... Stay away from anything too hot or too cold. Give the nerve in the tooth a chance to calm down. If you find afet another two weeks that the pain is the same or worse, you may want to go back to your dentist for an evaluation. By the way, how does your bite feel? Do you feel like you are hitting that tooth first? Sometimes if the bite is high on a filling you will have the same symptoms. Chances are it is not permanent.. But give it a chance. The alternative is to remove the filling, place a sedative filling, see if the pain resolves, and then refill the tooth. That precedure may irritate the tooth even more. ...Read more
