Hiatal hernias: If small, no. Could have resultant reflux pain, which stems from stomach acid going back up the esophagus. You are at risk for this because of the hiatal hernia, & usually is present after eating something spicy, fatty or really heavy. Herniated th disca. And gerd both can cause chest pain. It often is adeep pain, inside your. Bidy. Muscle pains are often more superficial. You did not say how you got the herniated disc, many are caused by trama causing other soft tissue injury which also can cause chest pain.

Started taking Prilosec for gerd. Soon after I started experiencing this weird chest pain, headaches, and a pounding chest (no HR elevation). Ran out and symptoms lessened. Took It again and they came back. Is it in my head or a reaction to Prilosec?
It might be,,,: It appears that Prilosec can have as an adverse effect, severe abdominal pain. This is due to increased intestinal gas. There can also be nausea and vomiting. Headaches are also a side effect. Possible: Does not sound like cardiac pain. Not unusual for gerd symptoms to act like this. An easy test is to simply take an over the counter medication for gerd like prilosec. See gastro: I assume that you have already seen a gastroenterologist since you know that you have LES laxity. I am not sure that there is a cure for this short of surgery but your GI doctor could better advise you. To treat GERD we advise people to take PPI meds, avoid large meals, maintain normal weight and not eat any foods that trigger the symptoms. Unlikely: Chest pains: a number of diagnoses. For chest pains of a cardiac origin: mostly exertional chest pressure, chest tightness lasting for 10-15 minutes and resolving at rest or with nitro, cold radiate to the left arm or jaw, mostly substernal on the lest side of the chest.
