Doctor insights on:
I have gastritis and GERD. My symptoms become much worse around menstruation and ovulation. Is this typical?

I would recommend that you consider omeprazole or ranitidine for as many days as you need it each month, and then get off of it in between. If that helps your problem, no other management is probably necessary. Good luck. ...Read more

Testing too early: Wow. There is no physical way your symptoms represent pregnancy. The mothers body doesn't even have a way to know it pregnant till about two weeks in. Testing before the next period is missed is worthless. The test cannot pick up pregnancy till at least fourteen days after impregnation. ...Read more

I'm 10 days past ovulation my left breast has a burning sensation headaches and heartburn. Could this be a early pregnancy symptom or something else.
These could be signs of early pregnancy. Additional signs are nausea, sensation of abdominal bloating, dull lower abdominal cramping, sensation of fullness in the breast, and backache.
In case this turns not to be pregnancy, it could also be symptoms preceding onset of menses, sometimes called premenstrual syndrome.

If taken only when heartburn starts, then a Histamine 2 reverse agonist (Pepcid, Zantac) may be more appropriate. ...Read more
