Past few days I have discomfort above my navel. Stomach feels like it has to growl but doesn't. Lots of gas both ends, heartburn. No fever or vomiting?

Gastroenteritis?: If this gets much worse get to a doctor and be evaluated. If diarrhea begins along with vomiting stay well hydrated and if you cannot, get to an ER. If the fever becomes worse go and get seen. In short, not enuf info to make a definitive recommendation, but this sounds as if it is any worse you should definitely be seen. However certainly if it continues you should see your physician for an evaluation to be sure nothing else is going on. Food Born Illness: Usually foodborne illnesses hit fairly rapidly. Vomiting is not going to really help you very much. Ride this one out. Probiotics may be helpful as well so pick up some of those at any drugstore and take them twice-daily for a couple of weeks. Things should get back to normal fairly soon. Go see your DR: For a thorough exam. You may have stomach irritation. Otc Prilosec and antacids may work for now . Try some laxatives/ stool softeners.
