Can back/muscle pain wrap around to the front ribs? Could it be my gallbladder? Had CT month ago no stones. Or my gerd? Achey sometimes stabbing/burning

Yes: Nerves start from the spine and go to the front of the body a little bit slanted (lower in front) and so a pain in the back can be felt in the front. Like you surmise, there are many causes of pain. Have a good exam and find out because if anything, a little physical therapy may be all you need. On the other hand if more severe, other modalities of treatment can be considered. ...Read more

Can gerd/pud cause rib and sternal pain? Especially upon deep breathing? Also with a high tbili could the pain be gallbladder related?

Gallbladder: This would be very unusual for GERD to cause these types of symptoms, and it sounds like it would be more likely related to the gallbladder, if the gallbladder is diseased. There are many causes of a high bilirubin. Make sure to follow up with your doctor, and ask if a gallbladder ultrasound and/or referral to a general surgeon is appropriate. MY post-incisional subxiphoid mesh has torn from its stitches below a 5cm hernia. Replacement should be tight, as the the hernia assoc w killer GERD. Can a strap bridge the ribs. What best way close?

I need more info. ..: Are you referring to a hiatal hernia which has been repaired with mesh? Or a ventral (abdominal wall) hernia? I'm not sure what you mean by a strap. If this is an incisional ventral hernia, then those are typically not associated with GERD. Repair can be complicated, esp if right under xiphoid. If one mesh repair has failed, component separation/TAR may be your best bet. Good luck! ...Read more
