Hollow chest cavity , racing heart rate, murmur. Related?

Hollow chest cavity , racing heart rate, murmur. Related?

Maybe: Pectus excavatum is more common in folks with marfan-like illness, who in turn are more likely to have "barlow" degenerative mitral valve disease which in turn predisposes a person to supraventricular tachycardia. Your physician may give you an rx, but ask also about getting into really good aerobic shape to manage the svt -- generally this works great and may keep you off meds. ...Read more

What causes heart murmurs, palpitations and a faster than normal heart beat?

What causes heart murmurs, palpitations and a faster than normal heart beat?

Stimulants: Stimulants increase the heart rate and make the heart more irritable and prone to irregular rhythms that would be perceived as palpitations. Ekg shows inverted t waves. Normal sinus rythmn. Palpitations feel like skipped beat followed by two hard slow thumps then back to normal. What is it?

PVC.: Sounds like you have a premature ventricular contractions or premature atrial contractions although i think these less likely. I would not be worried about inverted t waves in the absence of any other cardiac symptoms. To be absolutely sure these are what i think they are it would be reasonable to obtain a holter or event monitor and capture a few of these. ...Read more

Ecg showed 1 beat with a u wave like hypoalakemia but rest of beats normal?

Ecg showed 1 beat with a u wave like hypoalakemia but rest of beats normal?

One unusual beat OK: If the rest of your EKG is truly normal, then one unusual beat is unlikely to be due to a significant heart problem. Unless there are other reasons for your potassium to be low such as vomiting, diarrhea, diuretic medicines, an otherwise healthy 23 year old will probably have a normal potassium. Of course if you are have other heart related symptoms be sure to follow up with your doctor. ...Read more
