I have pulsatile tinnitus. Even if pressing my jugular vein stops the sound in my ear, I can still hear my heart pounding in my head. What's going on?

You need to speak to your doctor. You might need a complete blown d panel that includes CBC and metabolic panel, probably the hormonal level, a thyroid profile and depending on the results an abdominal CT.

Pulsatile tinnitus: Is a rhythmical noise that has the same rate as the heart. This is easily checked by feeling the arm pulse at the same time as listening to the tinnitus.
