4yr old taking Qvar and Albuterol for asthma. Can these medications increase heart rate and cause PVC's?
Palpitations is the symptom, not the diagnosis. They are the 'abnormal awareness of the beating heart'. This can include the heart going to fast, too slow, too hard, irregularly, skipping a beat. The causes are varied eg electrical problems (both sinister and not sinister), extra beats (mostly harmless), anxiety, thyroid problem. If persistent or worrying then get checked for ...Read more

Otherwise see your primary care MD asap to evaluate why you had such side effects, investigate your thyroid levels and cardiac tests ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Are epidural steroid injections, si joint, and radiofrequency ablation dangerous if given for years?
Yes and No: Osteoporosis after any sort of steroid exposure can occur. Usually this requires repeated chronic long term exposure after several years. Based on your age, unless you have previous exposure to oral steroids or have had significant exposure to epidural steroid injections i would not be too concerned yet. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Well : Well presence of allergies, hyper inflated lungs on cxr and dyspnea suggest asthma. You can have normal pfts (pulmonary function tests) ad still have asthma.I am not sure you have been tried on but usually you need blood test or skin test for allergies and a total ige level ( blood test). You could try inhalers on regular basis for example advair or Dulera (formoterol and mometasone) on twice a day basis and see if this will help you symptomatically. Some times treatment of asthma can become difficult and will need some patience at your and your doctors end. Hope this helps. ...Read more

Why does mild pericarditis cause increased heart rate (86-98) at rest and breathlessness? I am taking ibuprofen and colchicine?
Should not: If you are worried enough about getting a shot, however, you might have palpitations from your fear. If someone with 120/80 BP and 60 heart rate is given small dose beta blockers for migraine will it lower BP and heart rate too much?
Absolutely: Probably some of the most common immediate causes of death when they are generated through cardiac ischemia or represent malignant arrhythmias. Not all types of chest pain or palpitations are life threatening, since chest pain is not always heart related and palpitations are most of the time benign. Not directly: The sensation of palpitations is fairly common and steroids (depending on the type, potency, and route of administration) have many possible adverse effects, including some cardiovascular ones. However, it is more likely that the underlying condition for which you are receiving the steroids, or associated conditions, may be the root cause of the "flutter". If persistent, talk to your doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
