Would heart race then go back to normal with a heart attack? Chest tightness, back pain, diarrhea. Or panic attack?
Not typical: Change in heart rate is not something people who are having a heart attack usually report. Chest tightness or pressure is, often associated with activity that increases the heart rate. Low back pain or diarrhea would not be a sign of heart attack, but mid-back pain can be a symptom of a heart issue, especially a problem with the large chest artery, the aorta. Anxiety probable; pursue evaluation. ...Read more

I had a pain in the center of my chest for like 5mins then it went away. Could I have had a heart attack? It isn't there anymore.

I would say that it's remotely possible that you had a transient event called unstable angina, but at 18yrs old, that's absurdly unlikely. It's very likely not your heart, but if it is, it's more likely related to something called vasospasm than coronary issues. ...Read more

It could be one's guardian angel telling him to get checked out (meaning calling one's primary care doctor now to see how urgent the problem is). It might not be the heart, or it could be fatal next time one goes jogging. Better safe than sorry. ...Read more
