Episodes of near passing out when sitting. Start to feel relaxed, then hearing is disturbed, warm euphoric feeling, slow heartbeat. What could it be?
You're right: I know from your other question that you're wearing a 30 day event monitor. That's exactly the right thing to do! Your symptoms certainly raise the question of an arrhythmia - more likely to be too fast than too slow at your age. The monitor will be able to confirm your heart rhythm when you're having symptoms. Press the button and note the time with symptoms you're experiencing. Good luck! ...Read more
Recently started hearing heartbeat (not a whoosh but a beat) in my head when lying down. Stronger sound when lying on left side. What is causing this?
Could be nothing: But could be a symptom of carotid artery stenosis. Not to panic. Tell your doctor about it and let them listen to your neck for a bruit. They might order ultrasound of your neck to look at the carotid arteries as well, a non-invasive, not scary test. ...Read more

High blood pressure: Normally one doesn't hear their own heartbeat. However sound travels in the direction of (blood) flow & the only way it gets amplified is if there is more. That happens frequently (but not most of the time) with high blood pressure, or hypertension (also known as the silent killer, but perhaps u r lucky it's not silent in your case). See a doctor, get your blood pressure checked during an episode. ...Read more
Can't predict: Hearing a heartbeat means the fetus is alive when the heartbeat is heard. This does not necessarily mean that the risk of a miscarriage is significantly decreased. On the other hand if a heart beat isn't present then miscarriage becomes much more possible or probable. Not sure what the actual miscarriage rate is. ...Read more

Hi. I'm 42.Bp 130/80 HR 85. I'm hearing a swooshing sound in my left ear in synch with my heartbeat and feel dizzy. Started yesterday. Concerning?
BP is OK: Your BP and pulse are in the normal range, so that is not worrisome. You might have labyrinthitis. Labyrinthitis is a condition that causes sudden dizziness and balance problems. Not sure: Is difficult state for certain what is causing your experience. 37 female. Hearing heartbeat in ear. Seems to stop when I clench my jaw. Also have pain in tendons running from elbow to wrist, not sure associated?
Unrelated: These symptoms are unrelated. It is not uncommon to feel or hear the pulse in the ear, but if it is a very noticeable feeling, it's prudent to have your blood pressure checked to make sure it's not elevated. Your arm symptom is nonspecific but could be due to an inflamed tendon in the elbow. If you can take them, nsaids like Advil or Aleve (naproxen) may help. Otherwise see your physician for evaluation. ...Read more
I've had tinnitus for 7 years, now suddenly pounding like my own heartbeat in my right ear, can't something be done about this? I take lipoflavanoid to help, but it just aids a little. I have state-of-the-art hearing aids, but they do not help
What: What you are describing sounds like pulsatile tinnitis. Before recommending treatment, it would be reasonable to reconnect with your ENT to explore possible causes that include certain vascular tumors of the head and neck (i.e., paragangliomas), atherosclerosis that may be creating narrowing and turbulent flow of your carotid artery (which runs close to your middle ear), possible avm (arteriovenous malformation), etc. After a thorough head and neck exam, and audiogram, he/she may wish to get a contrast ct or mri/mra study. Just curious, with you being on lipoflavanoids, have you been diagnosed with meniere's disease? ...Read more
