After a balanced meal of healthy fats, protein, and fiberous carbs, my 1 hour glucose was 95. But after 2 hours it was 118! Is that delay worrisome?
This is reassuring: regarding your glucose tolerance. Both results are low and do not suggest sugar or insulin problems. But it is unusual that the second hour value would be higher than the first. My first thought would be "lab error" and in normal circumstances I would suggest the test be repeated. But as both results were squarely in the normal range, I would offer you reassurance. Carbohydrates: Carbohydrates in moderation is fine. You should try to consume a greater proportion of lean protein, vegetables, and fruit as opposed to carbohydrates. A meal consisting solely of bread, rice, and pasta is not very good. Just put together a balanced meal from all food groups. When i eat a high carbohydrate meal i get tachycardia. I can't eat cake, a hamburger, pizza nothing. If I do my heartrate s 150 BPM why?
I don't know: I can't answer your question but you should be checked out. Note that hamburger and pizza are not high carb meals. A holter recording can easily determine the type of tachycardia you have. Atenolol is a good drug but if it's not working, there are many others, depending on the cause. No specific number: The low glycemic diet is what you need. Eat a diet rich in green vegetables and hard fruits. One that is low in animal saturate fats is also good. Eat 80% of each meal in plant and 20% animal. Get protein and good fat like olive oil coconut oil or nuts at each meal. However, your fasting bg is 109 by your report; so liver's production seems adequately controlled. Perhaps u should check ppbg 2 hours after meal to make certain it isn't spiking.
