Well it didn't -: -appear out of the blue. It must have always been there, perhaps from a little recalled injury from long ago that U don't recall. If it's not painful etc, & staying the same I would not worry. All this points 2 a benign process . 4 peace of mind, U could C Ur PCP 2have it looked @ & a hands on xam. Weird hard lump on upper shin. Under knee. Painful to bend knee. Painful to straighten leg. Sudden appearance. No trauma to leg at all. Help?

Could be several: things and all of them need xrays and proper physician examination and diagnosis. Scar tissue from previous trauma, lipoma, bone spur, and bone sarcomas/ tumors are all possibilities. Please get yourself to a physician to help diagnose and treat asap. Lipoma...: Lump which is contender, soft, or firm but on scan no concern . Common is deposits of fatty tissue in subcutaneous layer - it happens without reason. it is benign condition. Lipoma: Most likely is a benign fatty tumor called a lipoma. if the tissue is soft and mobile likely a lipoma. YOu can also have an injection granuloma. if you have to give yourself shots in your upper leg regularly you can get scar tissue in the area called a granuloma which is benign. Time: It is probably a bone contusion with a hematoma. You can initially try ice within 48 hours to reduce swelling. After about 5 days, you can switch to moist heat to try to increase blood flow to area to resorb hematoma quicker. If it hurts to bear weight, be seen to make sure it is not broken. Yesterdays Cyst.: Sounds about right to me. The cyst of a few months ago is starting to thicken it's walls and firm up. It is taking up more space and starting to effect the surrounding tissues. Probably best to have it re-evaluated. Consider having it excised. ...Read more
