Be sure BP normal: Pregnancy can cause hormonal changes that can cause other symptoms to arise in the body. Headaches with blurry vision need to be evaluated by your obgyn and eyemd to be sure 1st your BP is normal & to make sure your optic nerve is not swollen/ developing papilledema. Cold symptoms: If you have a significantly sore throat w swollen tonsils / lymph nodes – see your medical provider & get a strep throat test & culture. Saltwater gargles are very helpful. Mix a teaspoon of salt in 8 oz of warm water – gargle with this several times a day. You can gargle with aloe vera juice a couple of times per day. Depends on fetus: 16 weeks is quite early, and there is never a guarantee. If the fetus spreads it's legs and is in the right position for the us technologist, it can be very easy to tell the gender. If the fetus does not cooperate, then the accuracy goes down, to just guessing or flipping a coin (50%). It is easier to tell at 20 weeks or so (everything is bigger).
