Evaluation: Dear vonn, headaches have multiple causes. Is there any history of trauma to your head or neck? Do you have sinus issues? What is the location of the headache? Head pain can be due to problems in the neck, upper back or related to food sensitivity issues or hormones at times. I have episodes of a dilated pupil with headache, ringing in ears, feel strange and neck pain.Normal scans.I was prescribed depakote. Any ideas?
Need more info: I have a lot of questions I'd like to ask you. There's several possible diagnoses, and regardless of which one, Depakote is a medicine I'd hesitate to prescribe to a 29 year old woman. It has long term side effects including weight gain, hair loss, and tremor and can cause birth defects. Depends on cause: Tinnitus is abnormal if it is constant in only one ear, constant in both ears but much louder on one side, pulsing with your heart rate, or associated with another ear symptom such as hearing loss, vertigo, etc. You don't give enough info but tmj, neck spasm, migraine, and tumors all can cause headache and tinnitus.
