Headaches wake me up at night and persists during the day. Have had frequent headaches for many years. Reason to worry?
Worry? No-Treat? Yes: Headaches waking you up persistently at night may be any number of things from tension type to migraine and there are others. Your use of the words "many years" suggests that these are likely benign (though I'm certain painful and perhaps even debilitating). Therefore, should you be worried? I would say likely not...But I suggest a good headache specialist to get you treated on back to yourself.
Nti-tss: I have had great success treating patients with migraine headaches. Nocturnal para-function, or night time tooth grinding /clenching is a major cause of migraine headaches. Find a dentist in your area that is familiar with the nti-tss night time appliance to help manage the outbreaks. Here is a website for you to learn more and find a dentist who may be able to help. Hi I have frequent headaches that wake me up at night and I also have it during day, and they hurt my eyes, saw eye doctor he sais everything is ok?
Visit doctor: For headaches that wake you in the night, you should take a visit to your doctor. This type of headache needs attention rather than ignoring. If the headaches are occurring after binge-drinking it's a different story -- but there's no additional information on your question. Please see your doctor asap.
Got teeth fillings (6) 6 days. Every since I have headache and teeth hurt the whole day. Headache is on one side of head and wakes me up at night. Why?
Go back: You may need to have your dentist adjust your recent fillings. When your mouth is anesthetized (numb) you don't always bite down the same way. It's not something you can fix yourself. The best outcome would be that the adjustment fixes the problem. There are other post operative complications that can develop as well but let's think positively that it's a minor ajustment.
I've been experiencing massive headaches and numbness in my hands and feet for about 2 weeks. It wakes me up at night. Could it be a brain tumor?
See your MD: You need to see your doctor as soon as possibled and have yourself checked. Definitely, if the headache is so severe and massive and has been there for 2 weeks- you don't want to wait anymore to have it evaluated. You need a good history and examination, imaging to the head-i.e.Mri-and some other tests. If you can't see your doc soon enough- go to er. Don't lose any more sleep -go now.See 2 more doctor answers
Headache and neck pain for 2 months. Worsening. Wakes me at night. Can't sleep and now cold wet sensation in head and thumping ear. What could be?
Hard to say: These complaints warrant a full history and exam. Given no history of trauma you could have a chronic headache or something life threatening like meningitis. As it turns out the best approach would be to be examined by your doctor and if unavailable to the emergency room to rule out these life threatening issues.
Headache when waking up. Better - but not completely gone - during the day and then comes back at night. Why?
Complicated question: There are many causes of headaches. Common causes of daily headaches include tension headaches, medication overuse headaches, and migraines. Also, lack of enough sleep and stress are common culprits. I need a history of your symptoms and a neurological exam to make further recs, so please have a complete evaluation by your primary care doctor, who may then refer you to a neurologist.
I don't get anyosleep at night and its starting to beclme a headache. I toss and turn allight long and I wake up?
Sleep deprived: What are you doing before you go to bed? You may be over stimulating yourself by texting, reading worry, etc an hour or so before bed try to relax by listening to soft music, take a walk or other relaxing activityas a last resort you can try taking melatonin.
Hi I'm having a headache (lower left side) for three days and nights as well. The pain wakes me up in the muddle of the night. What could that be?
Anything: Headaches can come from fatigue, sleeping too much or too little, eye strain, sleep apnea, snoring, being dehydrated, having chronic sinusitis or allergies, too much caffeine or over the counter headache medication, high blood pressure or something more serious like a tumor. See your doctor and get checked.
Have it checked: It is unusual to have a headache that wakes you up as you describe. If this is a new occurrence and you don't have a history of chronic headaches, it is concerning. You should have it checked out by your doctor. You want to make certain that it is not a mass lesion like a brain tumor. The tinnitus should also be evaluated.
Worrisome...: If a headache is bad enough to awaken you from your sleep, or is very severe, whether frontal or other part of scalp (there are no pain fibers in the brain!), you must see your physician. Most presume a headache is just a headache. But if never evaluated/worked up for causes, particularly if pattern changes, or become more severe, it needs to be. Must rule out brain tumor. If no cause found, rx.See 1 more doctor answer
