What is long term damage from taking 2-4 Excedrin pills a day every 6 hours? I understand I should probably see a dr about the headaches. Thx

Stomach ulcers: First you need to determine what type of headaches that you might be experiencing. To continue to use excedrin on a daily schedule, may lead to many other problems. Excedrin contains aspirin/nsaid, which in turn can cause peptic ulcers in addition to making our platelets less functional for a period of time. This can lead to bleeding abnormalities. ...Read more

It looks like you also take Vicodin which may further complicate matters. Since you have a history of "migraine" I would strongly recommend consulting a neurologist to help you manage your headaches. Avoid self medicating. ...Read more

The treatments differ for migraine headaches(we use drugs called triptans which are very effective but you need to go to a doctor for it. Otherwise you can use exedrin or tylenol(milder pain medicine but it is much safer than any others). Tramodol is a narcotic and not recommended. ...Read more

Better not to nurse: after taking. The aspirin component of the Excedrin is not recommended for nursing mothers. It would be best to wait until tomorrow to nurse. You can pump and discard your milk until then. For future headaches, you may want to use either ibuprofen or acetaminophen instead of the Excedrin. ...Read more
