I've been having 4 or 5 nosebleeds a day for months, recently they are a lot heavier and last up to 5 minutes & I have bad headache, what should I do?

I've been getting frequent headaches and nosebleeds. I have diabetes only happens when I take care of my self. Is it my meds or something else?

Should not be meds: If you do not take anything but the Insulin you list. It is probably from dryness. Try putting a cool mist humidifier in your room and coat your nose with ayr nasal gel with vaseline over it at night when you sleep. It should help. To stop a nose bleed hold your nose at the end of the cartiledge as hard as you can for 1-0 minutes by the clock. Good work taking care of yourself! ...Read more

What could be wrong with me? Been having headaches & nosebleeds for 2 months. Then just developed forgetting things, & having trouble concentrating.

Too many options: You'd need a full exam - maybe tests to diagnose this. Also, while there may be a connection - it's possible that each complaint is from a separate cause. So, be watchful and report in detail the nature of your symptoms (freq, duration, severity, etc) to your doctor. Best! ...Read more

Earlier I got very dizzy and the I got a bad headache, it lasted a few hours and then I got a nosebleed and the headache was gone and it he about 15 minutes later I had another bad headache and then another nosebleed and it went away again and it repeated

Not normal!: Your symptoms are certainly not normal. You do not give your age and/or your other medical problems or meds, so it is tough to say what is going on. Right side nosebleed, right side headache and bloating after eating. What could be causing this? I've had the same problem two days in a row

Migraine/BP: You've gotten a right sided headache after eating and a nosebleed. This could be a simple migraine triggered by eating, or can be due to your meds. However, it could also be a serious manifestation of hypertension that might be active and dangerous (so called "malignant hypertension"). An urgent visit to your doctor for a work-up and treatment is advisable here. Best of luck. ...Read more

My question is for my husband he has very high blood pressure constant keeps a headache this morning he had a headache, nosebleed, blood pressure is 145/102 what does that mean?

Not controlled!: He needs immediate medical attention! Do nosebleeds relieve the pain & pressure of headaches, would my migraine get worse if nose was cauterised?

No relation: Nose bleeds (epistaxis) is not related to migraine which is a central problem involving the dura of the brain. Migraine headaches and their sequelae have undergone significant alterations as to the exact mechanism underlying this disease. But I do not think that nosebleeds would alter the course of pain and pressure in the head related to migraine headaches. Nose can be cauterized. ...Read more

Unless: Unless your nosebleed is profuse, and not stopping with conventional measures (pressure, restricted activity, head elevation, ice compresses, etc.) you probably don't need to run to the hospital and run up a morer expensive bill. I would, however, recommend you see an ENT to determine the cause of these bleeds which sounds like a chronic problem. The possible causes is vast and not determinable without more thorough history and, specifically, directed nasal exam. ...Read more

Not normal: Nosebleed from Zoloft (sertraline) is an uncommon if not rare side effect. Review with prescribing doctor to consider lowering dose or switching to another med not likely to cause these side effects. I hope this helps. ...Read more

I have had nosebleed problems for 1 year in same nostril. Today I took Advil for a headache, and later on my nose bled. Connection?

ENT needed: Repeated nosebleed from one nostril suggests an injured or abnormal (hemangioma) blood vessel or another problem (infection, tumor). A careful exam of the nose by a specialist (ENT) should be done. Aspirin, Advil, and related agents increase risk of bleeding, stopping them may help, but exam still needed ...Read more
