Needs Exam: It does sound like the flu. Could be a summer enterovirus, or possibly even influenza, it is now November. Push fluids, motrin as needed for headache and body aches. If she has fever in the morning, bring her in for an exam by your pediatrician. After five days, we want to consider alternative diagnoses. Best of luck!

I have scratchy throat, headaches, runny nose, body aches and low fever.

There is a lot: Of possibilities with those symptoms and the winter weather is not helping. You may have sinus infection throat infection, allergies. Flu or just a viral illness. Best to see your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment before it gets complicated. Still proper diet, plenty of liquids and bed rest is very important.

Fever: You need to be evaluated by a physician with particular emphasis on your temperature and blood pressure. Widening of pulse pressure is one of the early indicators of shock

URI: Cough can be the main symptoms of a cold or upper respiratory infection. Are you short of breath? If not, then you can manage your symptoms at home with OTC meds like Dayquil and Nyquil. In a non-smoker these symptoms will resolve on their own within 7-10 days. Antibiotics do not treat viral infections.

Viral infection: You are likely having a viral infection which may not be the flu. Do realize that flu vaccine is not 100% protective especially if you received it more than 3-4 months ago. A lot of people are getting influenza B infection this year vs influenza A. Other viral infection (cold virus) may cause the same symptoms as flu. None of the drugs you mentioned helps viral infection. Rx flu drug may help

Tonsillitis: It sounds like a tonsilar infection, probable viral as described. Rest, increase your fluids, salt water gargles, soft foods. Continue with the dr. In follow-up and for a re-evaluation if not improving in time.

My 6 year old son has been complaining or a sore throat, headache and body aches. Ne fever present. Eating and drinking normally. Monitor or e.R.?

Difficult to know: If your son is a normal healthy child, then these symptoms are likely caused by a viral infection and you can monitor him at home. If, however, he has any underlying chronic disease, you should probably call his doctor and discuss it with him or her.

I have a sore throat headache and body aches all over. No fever or any other symptoms. Ibuprofen works but 6 hrs later pain returns. What to do??

Flu-like illness: Sounds like an episode of an influenza-like illness which should resolve in several days. Take another ibuprofen, stay well hydrated, rest and if you are not better or getting any worse go and see your family doctor. Hope you are better soon.

My husband has been sick for 4 days now symptoms are excessively sweating day and night loss of appetite chills with no fever headache and body aches.

Febrile illness: As long as he is staying the same or getting better, you could give it a few more days of watching him at home. If he seems to be getting worse in any way, however, I would take him to his doctor or to an urgent care center. In the meantime, plenty of fluids. You could use Tylenol or ibuprofen for fevers. Be sure to follow the directions on the box. If he worsens, see his doctor ASAP. Good luck.

Hi I'm having a really bad headache and my body aches and my body is all sweaty but I have no fever?

Seasonal flu: Is very common viral infection. Usually the condition resolves on its own with home care. Drink water and get a good rest. NSAIDs (e.g. Aleve, Advil) or Tylenol (acetaminophen) are also recommended every 6 hours. If concerned, see your PCP for examination.

Viral infection: Hi, it seems you have a Viral illness, possibly involving your upper respiratory tract, take Advil or Tylenol, (acetaminophen) stay well hydrated, drink warm tea, eat soups, rest, u also can try steaming, these infections will go away by itself in a wk or so, no need for Antibiotics, green sputum despite the general belief is not a sign of infection most of the time, it could be just dehydrated mucus.
