It is not mercury. Dental amalgam does not cause those symptoms. It could be a recurrent infection or a TMJ problem. If you haven't done so, please have it checked by a dentist.

No this is not typical. The reason why you are having pain on the opposite side from the root canal may be because your mouth was open for a long time during the dental procedure. Now the muscles and jaw are stressed out. If this is the cause ibuprophen, ice and soft diet will help.

It would be unlikely that the sealants caused the the pain, especially if the discomfort did not start for a year.
