Get it checked: It is not mercury. Dental amalgam does not cause those symptoms. It could be a recurrent infection or a TMJ problem. If you haven't done so, please have it checked by a dentist.

Not typical: No this is not typical. The reason why you are having pain on the opposite side from the root canal may be because your mouth was open for a long time during the dental procedure. Now the muscles and jaw are stressed out. If this is the cause ibuprophen, ice and soft diet will help.

Sealent issues: It would be unlikely that the sealants caused the the pain, especially if the discomfort did not start for a year.
There may be decay under the sealant but you would need to get an xray to check on it. I would think that a change in your bite could cause all these symptoms, but you will need to see a dentist to evaluate. ...Read more
