Rest a lot! Tylenol (acetaminophen) maybe: If the headache is from fever than tylenol (acetaminophen) or Ibuprofen may help. If the headache is from the flu then rest and fluids will help. Elderberry can help with the flu as well. The medication tamiflu is also used for flu symptoms and you would need to see your doctor for a presciption. Nothing Makes Sense: Picture a virus wearing a ski mask and you can't tell what it is. The only way to really tell if you had the real flu the first time would be to take a blood test or nose swab at that time. See below: Headaches are a general symptom of many viral illnesses, even stomach (GI) illnesses. This is due to the viral load triggering the general inflammatory response and with a stomach bug, if vomiting and diarrhea, could also be due to dehydration as well. Yes: In any season we have at least 4-6 strains of flu circling the globe & air travel mixes/spreads it quickly. Flu virus mutates rapidly & the vaccine has the most recent & frequent strains but can't have them all. You could have a mutated strain or one not in the vaccine. You could also have something else.
