I would not wait too long. Is there a family history of cancer? Do you have swelling anywhere else? Are the night sweats drenching. Probably migraine: Sinus headache is also a possibility, but it is usually accompanied by yellow or green nasal discharge. Meningitis is a consideration as well, especially if there is fever, in which case make it quickly to an ER. Sore tender lymph node in back of neck for almost two weeks, mild neck pain,off & on headache. No fever, night sweats, nausea, vomiting, weight loss.
Inflammatory: Malignant nodal disease from oral cavity spreads to anterior neck. Other tumors are found in nodes along jugular chain. Posterior neck most often drains hairline or lesions posterior scalp. Check to see if infection skin lesion present and use warm soaks to treat. This should resolve presence of sore nodes.
