Is strep throat a symptom of HIV? M-M contact. No penetration. Possible saliva contact with anus. 6 days later, sore throat. Tested + for strep throat

Test for HIV: Strep throat is not a sign of HIV, but acute HIV infection can also announce itself as a bad sore throat from which strep may grow. Many, perhaps most, men do a little safe exploring with a friend at some time. I hope you'll value what happened, and love safely. ...Read more

Tested positive with strep throat for 3 time in last two months.I have sore throat symptoms but nothing else.Am i a carrier? Am I contagious everyday?

Hard to say: We generally reserve the "chronic carrier" label for those who do not get sick with it, although anyone sick with it carries it for a while. You need to investigate whether you are being reinfected by a third party, your old tooth brush, your dog, etc. Some have resistant strep and need 2 stage therapy. Work the specifics out with your doc. ...Read more

If I have a UTI (not under meds) and get strep throat with fever over 101........Joint and body aches with sore throat........Can that make UTI worse?

Possible: Since you are not on antibiotics, your immune system has to do all the work. If you have other infections going on, your body may be weaker allowing the infections to worsen. However, even without the sore throat and joint aches, UTI will get worse over time. Also, with your combination of symptoms, i would get checked out asap and get antibiotics. All your symptoms may be from stds. ...Read more
