Head trauma: Anyone with head trauma should be thoroughly evaluated by Neurology and/or Neuropsychology with any needed imaging studies. This needs to be done as soon as possible. TBI can definitely cause nightmares but the psychological aspect of the trauma can also cause nightmares. Sinus congestion: When discomfort in the head or temple area as you describe occurs upon postural changes then, the most likely explanation is that of increased pressure in the head causing expansion of fluid which may be in your sinuses.
